I hate having those nightmares that you can't wake up from. Especially the ones that aren't exactly pleasant. I usually don't dream a lot since I go to bed so tired I can't even keep a train of thought for more than fifteen seconds or so. But today's nap was something else.
It was super weird... It was one of those scenes that shift every time your point of view shifts, but not too drastically, so you can't tell the subtle differences that just tweaked themselves and changed the surroundings. It's one of those mixed dreams, where the people are from all walks of life, some you knew before, some you know now, some you might never meet and some you might see in other dreams that might not actually exist. All I remember was being with the protagonist of Vampire Diaries, Stefan, in some forest-like backyard that was enclosed by some big wooden pickets. We were talking about something completely irrelevant to the scenery, but I don't know what. It didn't seem to be too serious or important, because there were flat faces and few emotions. The faces were actually kind of blurry, you know, like when you forget to put the heater in your car and the back window is all misty and foggy from the coldness of the rain outside. Then, I remember seeing a rusty swing somewhere in the corner that rocked with the wind... it didn't call out as an important part of the place, but it was easily noticed. I looked around, but suddenly the psychologically and emotionally unstable antagonist, Katherine, shows up and she's all scary and whatnot in her insane calmness. Nothing is scarier than an angry ex-girlfriend. Trust me, you don't want to be the target of one of those. So she looks around at us and says something that I can't remember or understand, almost inaudible, but it has something to d with my death or a threat by the fear I sense starting to seep through the pores of the guy next to me that doesn't really look like Stefan anymore, but I can't recognize to be anyone in my life. Then, suddenly the atmosphere shifts again and we're somehow trapped there in the backyard and I'm super confused, and I'm standing next to the protagonist's brother, Damon. Somehow, I had the strange and misguided notion that if I stuck around him I wouldn't get my neck ripped off by this undercover vampire across from us. He looks our way and we hold each others' eyes for an instant, and his eyes glow red, and his face gets all veiny and translucent like they do in the show when they're hungry, and I look away, and I look at Damon who gives me the Oh Damn face, and I look around for a possible exit, and that's where I woke up.
