A Dream is a Wish...

...that will never get fulfilled unless you do something about it.

Freedom is something you will never achieve if you don't fight for it.

The Kiwi birds are a lot like humans, you know? You have a dream, you have a goal that's so deeply ingrained in your mind that wanting to achieve it isn't enough. You might feel that it's impossible at one point or another, but soon you realize you're willing to do whatever it takes to live up to the blissful anticipatory success in your heart. You think for a while, trying to rationally combine your desire to do whatever it is your life is burning to do, and the chances that you may achieve that.

Something you always think about is how you will fail. It's inevitable. Unless you're a dreamy optimist, there's always the little fear bug that plants itself lightly in our consciousness and eats away at the curiosity of the "what if". The hole it makes in one's thoughts is something incredible... like a warmhole in the universe that sucks everything up.

Nevertheless, apart from adversity there will always be a degree of completion to a task.

If the other birds can fly, why can't I?

You can fly, little Kiwi; you can. I promise you'll be able to soar. Even if it's just in your mind and heart, you will soar above the trees. Even if you placed them there yourself, you will pass through them and above them as a glorious example of what we can all do. But we can't afford to forget your end, brave Kiwi... Your tragic, honorable demise. You inspire us with the actions of a fresh soul, but you make our hearts ache with the result of your daring crusade.

Maybe there is hope. Yes, there could be a flicker of enlightenment. But there is always failure tainting the pure white sheet of dreams.

 Fly, Kiwi, fly!
Soar, Kiwi, soar!
No matter how much
you believe you are flying
in your heart,
You will fly
after this

Nevermore.
