Law School Before Time

I love college.

My friends probably think I'm insane for loving it so much. They all thought I was going to go to Harvard or Princeton or NYU or even something in Boston or Portland or Washington, D.C. (where I belong!) and become a great big-name attorney.  Well, all in good time, I say. I decided to come to THC first because I knew it would be a great experience and I would be fully covered, no financial problems or obligations. What I didn't know was that the college has a program for Paralegal Studies, and the professors are amazing! I never expected to be involved so much in school, and actually look forward to study groups and such. The idea was actually quite foreign, since I always did everything alone in high school and practically taught myself the material that wasn't being covered. Sure, I had friends and classmates, but none made me interested enough to see outside of class. When school wasn't going on, I was at home or at church with a completely different crowd.

But tonight's study group made me realize how much college differs from grade school. There's a variety that can never be reached in any high school. There's people from all over the world and various walks of life, with so many experiences, I couldn't live them all in one life. It would take various cycles of reincarnation for me to be able to get to that level of experience and life. Even though I've gone through my fair share of memorable days, nothing compares to the vivid colors of many of my classmate's doings. The richness of tones in their lives can never be reproduced with the pale hues on my paintbrushes.

The part of the night I enjoyed the most was driving to the distant Starbucks with my baby Sevy Dell in hand, ready to study the outline I'd created for the debate I have to do in PLA tomorrow. It was the spontaneity and the natural feeling of meeting others to study and communing in a random spot to organize ourselves better. I love it.
